We think that it is essential that through our work people can gain experience of working with the cultural sector as so, in association with a range of Schools, Museums and Galleries we run a host of opportunities for people who have learning disabilities to gain, often their first, experiences of work.

We run a series of supported work experience programmes in Museums and Galleries in the Manchester area. These are really hands on, practical and fun. We make the experience person centred and people can get involved with all sorts of aspects of working within a Museum environment. Basically this is a fantastic all round learning experience that gives people the tools to develop their future potential.
and Please get in touch if you would like to get involved!
If you are from a school, museum or gallery that would like to be involved we would love to hear from you too.
This is the stark reality: according to Mencap that although 60% of adults with a learning disability in the UK would like the opportunity to work only 1 in six ever get that opportunity, either a paid or unpaid throughout their lifetime. This has to change and we think that we can play a part in changing, in our own way this within the cultural sector in our area.
