Moving Image

Our animation and film workshops utilise hands on drawing and photography along with information technology including film editing programs and ipads. Sometimes we work on collaborative pieces where the group work on different elements of the same film. Sometimes we work on individual films on personal themes. Themes we have explored include conserving the ocean, the Olympics, flying over Manchester and dream jobs. We have created animations on chalk boards, in tracing paper books, zoetropes, silhouettes, stop frame animation, and expressive moving paintings. We enter our films into film competitions and exhibit them in exhibitions. Examples of our animation projects are Velotrope (old animation technique), Solar system (cut out paper), View through the Rain (hand drawn), Circuit Board (3d objects) and Shooting Stars (School Kids)
